The ABC's of Salvation

Last Sunday I delivered a message about salvation. In that sermon, I mentioned that salvation is easy and can be broken down in three simple ABC steps. So, I wanted to make this into a blog post that you can read and comprehend easily. Without further ado, let's get right to it.

ADMIT- The first step is admit you have sinned. Pretty easy, right? Well, yes and no. We have to put aside our pride and seriously admit that we are sinners. We have to realize that we were born into sin and will continue to sin. However, when we admit we are sinners, we're taking the first step into the realization that we don't want to sin any longer. We want to try our best not to sin. That takes a lifetime of work, and we're going to mess up from time to time, but it's okay. Jesus knows we won't be perfect. We just have to keep going back to this step frequently and work harder.

BELIEVE- The second step is a little harder to do, especially if you've never heard of Jesus before. But, believing come from hearing the Word of God. When you hear the Word of God, whether it's preached or you simply read a verse from The Bible, God plants a seed with you. Some people think that "seeing is believing", but if you read The Bible and study a little bit of history, it's very easy to believe in Jesus. We have to believe in Jesus and that He died for our sins, rose from the dead three days later, and is the Son of God. That's all we have to believe.

CONFESS- This step is also referred to as "commit", as in commit your life to Jesus. However, if you follow the first two steps I mentioned above, you'll find this to be very easy to do. You confess that Jesus is the lord of your life, He died for you, and He defeated death. If you declare this with your mouth, believe in your heart, and admit you're a sinner- you will be saved.

See, Jesus wants a relationship with you, but the choice is yours. He has a plan for you and wants to spend eternity with you. But, you have to take Him into your life as Lord and Savior. You have to realize that you can't do life alone and need Jesus in it.

Accepting Jesus as your Savior and accepting His gift of salvation is easy. The hard part is living daily for Jesus and simply not giving up. Things will get hard, because life is hard, but you can't give up. He will see you through things, you just have to lean on Him and believe He will. There has been times in my life if I wondered Jesus was even there for me. It's silly to think now, but at the time, I truly thought it. Then, something happened to solidify my faith in Him. It's almost like something happens just to say "Hey, I'm here. Stop being silly!"

If you don't know Jesus, it's easy to get to know Him.

Romans 10: 9-10 states: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

That's all you have to do: Admit, Believe, and Confess. If you want to know Jesus and have a relationship with Him and have followed the steps above, you can pray this simple prayer to get started with a new life in Jesus Christ.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.

If you've read this and made a decision to accept Jesus, or to come back and rededicate your life to Him, let us know. Message the church at: outlawministriesorg@gmail.com Let us pray for you and give you any advice to get started that you may want. If you need, we'll even mail you a physical copy of The Bible. We want you to know a life in Christ and spend eternity with Jesus.

Blessings.
